About Vör
History
Vör was originally created in 2021 by slydelv as a custom Discord bot for the PC Help Hub community. What started as a simple moderation and utility bot for a tech support server has evolved into a comprehensive, open-source Discord bot serving thousands of users across hundreds of servers.
Original Purpose
The bot was built to address the specific needs of tech support communities:
- Moderation Tools: Advanced moderation capabilities for managing large communities
- Tech Integration: Specialized features for PC building and troubleshooting
- Community Management: Tools to foster helpful, organized communities
- Automation: Reducing manual work for server administrators
Evolution
Over time, Vör has grown from a single-server bot to a feature-rich platform with:
- 30+ modular cogs covering everything from moderation to gaming
- Advanced automod with scam detection and content filtering
- Web dashboard for easy management
- Self-hosting capabilities for privacy-conscious users
- Active development with regular updates and new features
