About Vör

History

Vör was originally created in 2021 by slydelv as a custom Discord bot for the PC Help Hub community. What started as a simple moderation and utility bot for a tech support server has evolved into a comprehensive, open-source Discord bot serving thousands of users across hundreds of servers.

Original Purpose

The bot was built to address the specific needs of tech support communities:

  • Moderation Tools: Advanced moderation capabilities for managing large communities
  • Tech Integration: Specialized features for PC building and troubleshooting
  • Community Management: Tools to foster helpful, organized communities
  • Automation: Reducing manual work for server administrators

Evolution

Over time, Vör has grown from a single-server bot to a feature-rich platform with:

  • 30+ modular cogs covering everything from moderation to gaming
  • Advanced automod with scam detection and content filtering
  • Web dashboard for easy management
  • Self-hosting capabilities for privacy-conscious users
  • Active development with regular updates and new features
